How I Became A Jag!

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to talk about my experience applying to the university and what moved me to become a jag!

When I was a high school senior, USA was one of the first schools I applied to. I was initially interested in having a career in the medical field, and I knew that South had plenty of health care related programs I could choose from. For me the application process was simple, and I really appreciated that I didn't have to do much work except send in my official test scores and transcripts.

I was so excited when I got my acceptance letter in the mail. It's hard to remember every detail, but I was thrilled that one of my top choices had accepted me. It was especially good for me because I qualified to pay in-state tuition, and since I had a pretty good ACT score, I had been awarded a great scholarship that would pay for the majority of my tuition.

In the end, after visiting the campus and coming to several events the university hosted, I fell in love with South and decided this would be my school for my undergraduate education. I've never regretted my time here at South, and I can't wait to call South my alma mater in 2019!

My Favorite Thing About South Alabama

Hello everyone!

My name is Paola, and I'm a new jag guide here at South! I am so excited to begin this new year!

I'll begin by introducing myself a little. I am currently a senior majoring in communications and minoring in marketing. I am originally from Mexico but have lived in Biloxi, Mississippi for large majority of my life. Today I'd like to share my favorite things about South Alabama and what I think you should know to help you make a decision about making South your university.

This is my fourth year at South, and those years have let me get to know the university pretty well. I'm hoping this post will be able to help you gain some inside knowledge on why South is such a great school and possibly the best fit for you.

There Is So Much To Do and Have Fun

My favorite thing about the university is all the opportunities I've had to be involved and feel like a part of a community. There are hundreds of clubs that you can get involved in, and there are always plenty of activities and event for you to go to. There is always something for you to do, and that really helped me get comfortable and feel like I belong.

Another one of my favorite things about the university is that it's located in Mobile, AL. I came from an average sized town. We have a few attractions (most people know about us for our casinos), but we don't have nearly as many as Mobile. Mobile has lots to offer as far as things to do and see, and I've loved being able to get to know the city and all it has to offer, especially all the restaurants and shopping options. Trust me, you'll get used to the traffic.

Those are just a couple of things that I love about the university. There's plenty more I could talk about, but I'll just save that for a later post.
